About the role

We are seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist with sourcing experience for a permanent full-time role either in Melbourne or Sydney. The successful candidate is required to work closely with internal and external stakeholders across multiple areas of business (including heads of Business Units, senior managers and supplier representatives) to build a structured and substantial savings pipeline.

You will become a trusted advisor to nominated business units and establish strong bonds, work collaboratively to identify opportunities, and implement activities to achieve their procurement targets.

Furthermore, you will:

  • Advocate best practice procurement strategies for business units and sourcing activities across APAC
  • Undertake business requirements definition, supply market analysis and commercial risk assessments to inform procurement planning and sourcing decisions
  • Develop, co-ordinate and lead sourcing activities to establish supply arrangements that meet business requirements
  • Plan and lead contract negotiations and review of procurement contracts and other legal documents
  • End-to-end supplier management
  • Identify, manage and mitigate procurement risks to enable the organisation to meet its obligations and maximise business opportunity
  • SME on procurement policies & procedures to the business, supporting them to navigate them such that the policies & procedures become valuable tools rather than administrative requirements.

About you

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • At least 5 years experience in procurement sourcing across both direct and indirect categories
  • Demonstrated experience in managing categories through the procurement life-cycle
  • Previous roles in large corporates, advantageous if you have been operating in an APAC model or within a service provider. 
  • Demonstrated contract negotiation and management capability
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Advanced procurement skills, specifically in supplier management
