The Senior Procurement Strategy & Industry Engagement Officer is a newly established position and will be a pivotal role shaping robust procurement strategies and contribute to the delivery of an Industry Engagement program for the Health Capital Division (HCD).
You will be responsible for partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to provide strategic procurement advice to engage building contractors and consultants, maintaining compliance and recommending best practice procurement strategies.
This role is vital for delivering the outcomes of the Industry Engagement program, fostering an increase in early market involvement and making sure the building contractor and consultant industry are informed of opportunities, relevant policy and legislative changes to achieve the best procurement outcomes for HCD.
You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing the performance of the procurement and contracts team while securing the best infrastructure procurement results for HCD.
Your multifaceted responsibilities encompass maintaining service quality standards, building relationships, undertaking early market engagement activities, monitoring legislative and policy changes, and proactively addressing procurement-related risks.
Furthermore, your expertise extends to data analysis, knowledge of relevant government policies, and the enhancement of practices and procedures. You'll play a key role in providing insights and ensuring the accurate capture of information within procurement systems.
The successful person
The successful candidate will have experience in infrastructure procurement and your demonstrated ability to lead procurement initiatives or programs of work to achieve desired results will be a focus.
While not mandatory, possessing relevant qualifications and professional certifications in Procurement and Contract Management is advantageous for this role.
The key requirements for the role include experience in early market engagement activities and sourcing strategy development, strong analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of Queensland Government policies and regulations related to infrastructure procurement, such as the Queensland Procurement Policy and Building Policy Framework.
Additionally, you will have effective interpersonal and communication skills, a proven ability to work collaboratively and autonomously while managing competing deadlines, and proficiency with relevant business applications and procurement systems.
