About the role
Our Digital Experience (DDX) team within our Digital function is significantly growing as we continue to invest in delivering the best digital shopping experience for our customers. Our Digital Experience team is now seeking a Senior Product Designer to join their growing team.
We are currently in the ideation and discovery stages of designing 'best in class' application that will be used nation wide by our supermarkets to create high-quality, compelling and accessible digital experiences for the Coles Group Team Member experience.
As a Senior Product Designer you lead by example to inspire your design team and squad across planning, research, ideation, design and execution. You will deliver a customer-led approach to product design, exploring human problems via journey maps and personas to create wireframes and prototypes through to conducting user testing to validate designs.
You will have extensive experience with mobile responsive design and mobile/tablet 1st projects and experience with research and implementation of new features and technology such as voice navigation and search
Experience with Figma is essential
You will
- Align design output to the Coles Customer Experience Strategy, Business Strategy, and Digital Strategy.
- Work closely with product and technology delivery to ensure experiences are desirable, feasible and viable.
- Encourage a culture of collaboration with product and engineering teams.
- Support Managers to build up the design capability within the Design and Digital Experience team.
- Contribute to a design strategy that supports the business strategy, supported by a comprehensive understanding of design techniques and best practices.
- Lead by example within our Product Design team, continually helping to refine and evolve our design processes, staying up to date on the latest design & technology trends.
- Support a team of designers working across multiple products & projects.
You have
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a UX/Product Designer or similar, with extensive skills in concept development, wireframe design, UI creation, prototype development, user testing and facilitation.
- 2+ years' experience supporting digital channels for large, complex organisations requiring stakeholder management.
- 2+ years' experience in project leadership or team mentoring
- Extensive experience designing for apps with a deep understanding of Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design. Ability to create rapid, low-fi through to high-fi prototypes and iterate.
- Experience communicating and rationalising design decisions alongside feasibility.
- A demonstrated capability in creating wireframes, UI and interactive prototypes; & providing developers a clear picture of what we are looking to create.
- Skilled in translating business process and customer behaviours/insights into design concepts.
- Experience working in a digital-first organisation with a strong customer-centric focus.
- Tertiary degree relating to Visual Design, User Experience Design or Human Centred Design.
- Working knowledge of the tools of the trade. Such as Figma, Sketch, user testing tools and rapid prototyping tools.
- Understanding of: digital ecosystem, software development lifecycle, development methodologies (including Agile), A/B testing and optimisation techniques, enterprise architecture principles, web usability and accessibility, online content strategy, and user experience (UX) design.
- An understanding of digital accessibility (WCAG 2.0/2.1) and the implications for design and able to include high level accessibility requirements in final designs
