Job Summary
As the Senior Program & Event Coordinator for our BEST IN GLOBAL CLASS Young Leadership Dialogue (YLD) program, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the program delivery for our Australian and American program participants and alumni. This role demands creativity, strategic planning, and a passion for cultivating leadership and innovation among young professionals. You will help plan, coordinate, and execute a series of impactful programs and events aimed at engaging and developing young leaders committed to our bilateral mission.
Key Attributes and Responsibilities
The SUCCESSFUL candidate will be highly organised, capable of planning and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, and have a proven track record in client/account liaison and event coordination. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, with an ability to present information clearly and effectively. We value initiative, a can-do attitude, customer-centric mindset, and flexibility in changing priorities. Strong digital literacy is a must.
- Lead the planning and execution of Young Leadership programs and events, from conceptualisation to evaluation, ensuring alignment with AALD's mission and goals, both in Australia and the US.
- Engage with educational institutions, NGOs, governmental bodies, and industry partners to enhance program delivery and reach.
- Coordinate with US and Australian stakeholders to ensure programs reflect and promote bilateral interests, diversity and opportunities.
- Develop and manage budgets, schedules, and logistical arrangements for all Young Leadership events.
- Evaluate program outcomes and impact, providing reports and recommendations to AALD leadership for continuous improvement.
- Manage annual recruitment and evaluation process for the program.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Event Management, Political Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in program or event management, preferably with a focus on leadership or international relations.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders across diverse sectors.
- Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering successful events.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Passion for fostering US-Australia relations and developing young leaders.
