The Senior Project Consultant works closely with the Statewide Manager, Primary and Community Service Development and Planning to provide specialist expert advice and implement Commonwealth-funded projects, undertaking high level project coordination and support, policy development and community engagement in relation to community-based health services in Tasmania.
The Senior Project Consultant will be expected to:
- Establish cross-sector relationships and effectively partner with stakeholders to plan and deliver outreach health services and programs.
- Undertake high level research, analysis, and evaluation of complex information to provide high level advice, reports, submissions to senior management, the Minister and Cabinet and the Australian Government.
- Develop project resources, manage grant funding agreements, and deliver project outputs.
- Supervise a small team.
The Role:
- Lead a small team to undertake complex project administration within a limited timeframe.
- Lead inter-agency and cross sector collaboration to deliver statewide outreach health services and programs, including representing the Agency in stakeholder forums and meetings as appropriate.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge and provide expert advice regarding national and international research and best practice with regard to value based primary health care and place-based commissioning.
- Provide significant project management services, including development of project resources, management of grant funding, identification and engagement of varied stakeholders and management of risks and issues.
- Undertake high level research and analysis of complex information to provide high level advice, reports, submissions to senior management, the Minister and Cabinet and the Australian Government.
The Primary and Community Care Service Development and Planning team:
- Provides oversight to primary health service development through programs such as Access to Health Services (A2HS), and Intermediate and Urgent Care.
- Coordinates, develops and implements strategic service planning initiatives and policy reform relating to Tasmania’s primary health care sector.

Details of Appointment
Fixed term full time day worker position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from 13 October 2024 until 31 October 2026.
*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant
- Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $124,371 - $130,905 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

- Postgraduate qualifications in health, humanities, government or similar field
- Experience in effective staff supervision
