- Ensure the delivery of property (Office/Industrial) related projects including refurbishments, fit outs, and relocations.
- Client-side Project Management, including:
- Engaging with clients/regional management to understand business needs,
- Developing project scope of works and project briefs
- Engagement and management of external contractors/consultants,
- Reviewing design/tender documentation and fixed price quotes,
- Engaging with program manager on changes in scope/budget or to confirm additional identified maintenance works
- Managing delivery, including liaising with onsite clients, external vendors, and property managers to facilitate successful delivery of projects.
- Example: project management work may include consultant and contractor management for:
- Civil project - internal roadway replacement
- Condition based maintenance including replacement of whole-of-building AC systems
- Improvement to fire services systems
- Energy efficiency projects – solar, LED, AC
- Site master planning and asset plan development
- Regular reporting on project/program progress.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of property related services including projects, maintenance, capital works, minor works, and related activities.
- Monitor consultant/contractor progress, manage allocated budget, and monitor progress claims for work completed
- Evaluate contractor performance, including identifying successful or poor performance outcomes, WH&S practices and quality of delivery.
- Represent and advocate on behalf of the department at inter-agency working groups or where necessary during consultation processes with adjacent landholders, leasing agents, co-tenants or building owners.
- Foster effective networks within DRDMW and with other government agencies and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the management of the department’s property portfolio, including providing feedback on short, medium, and long-term maintenance planning; condition and compliance assessments.

Essential skills
- Experienced project management skills with building systems and services training/background, including civil, mechanical, or electrical knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to identify client requirements and balance deliverables within the context of available program funding and building compliance requirements.
- Team player and ability to work autonomously
Desirable skills
- Previous experience working with local/state government in building project management
- Length of engagement – 12 months with a possible extension depending on budget availability. The term maybe cut short within the 12 months if budgets are not approved with a 3-month notice

- Travel away from the centre may be required. This may involve travel outside of normal office hours and/or overnight accommodation for short periods.
