Calibre has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join a high-performing team at our centrally located Perth CBD office. As a Senior Project Engineer, you will join a well-established project team working on an iconic major project to deliver a new wet processing facility for our client's Western Australian Iron Ore Operations. This will be their first major wet processing facility in 40 years, allowing you to make your mark in the iron ore industry and contribute towards our client’s efforts to improve ore quality, maximise asset value, and reduce carbon emissions.

The role will commence initially at our Perth CBD office with a view that you will mobilise to the site in 2025. In this, you will be primarily responsible for managing the procurement of site office compound facilities. You will also manage a site contract to install the facilities, do minor earthworks and concrete. Throughout the project, you may also support other additional pieces required to support the main construction contracts and:

  • Monitor progress and performance against the project plan; take action to resolve problems including minimizing risk and delay.
  • Ensure the project deliverables and documentation meet client requirements and engineering standards.
  • Identify potential problems, risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement project controls, specifications, schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Provide contract management including identifying variations, extensions of time and other contractual entitlements.
  • Conduct work in a safe manner and ensure the works are constructed in accordance with safety.

Thrive with us! We hope you’ll bring

  • Bachelor of Engineering degree.
  • 8+ years of experience in Project Engineering.
  • Experience working in an EPCM and major mining project environments.
  • Strong experience in areas such as NPI, and mining infrastructure.
  • Ability to execute effective direction to the project team as required.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a team environment and foster good relationships.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to undertake tasks with diligence and attention to the necessary detail.
