About the role

Reporting directly to the Manager Corporate Operations, the Senior Project Management Specialist is responsible for managing and delivering assigned projects across TAFE Gippsland. They are responsible across the full project lifecycle for all aspects of the project and provide reporting across project deliverables as required. The Senior Project Management Specialist works collaboratively across stakeholder areas of the Institute and from time to time may lead Project Officers who support the delivery of key projects. 

About you

As the Senior Project Management Specialist you have an extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods, techniques and their application in a Vocational Education and Training (VET) environment. You have the ability to manage all aspects of project and program management from planning, external vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, change, risks and issues. You have the ability to build stakeholder relationships at all levels and engage business leaders to establish credibility and achieve objectives. You are an exceptional communicator with highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. You demonstrate initiative, decisiveness in resolving business problems and identifying priorities. You have excellent planning and organisational skills with a very high level of attention to detail. 

Qualifications and experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications are mandatory, preferably in Project Management and/or related fields 
  • Experience in successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule and within budget
  • Strong experience presenting to executive sponsors

Mandatory requirements

  • Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
  • Current Police Check (no older than 12 months old)
  • Current Driver’s Licence (travel between campuses is a requirement of the role)
  • A valid COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate

A six-month probationary period applies to this position.
