In this role, you'll:
Join the dedicated Project Services West safety team and provide ongoing, dedicated resources to develop the extensive future outlook safety related infrastructure projects (aligned to Working Towards Zero) to be delivered by Maintenance and Delivery teams, councils or by contract engagements managed by Project Services.
Focus on conceptual works and solutions to support funding decisions ahead of project development and design.
Provide technical advice to the team and advise Senior Manager about risks and remediation strategies. Develop, implement and audit appropriate procedures, guidelines, processes and practices to ensure a high level of workplace health, safety and environmental protection on projects and contracts.
Build and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and partners to understand and manage risk and influence sustainable outcomes on projects by the development and implementation of effective stakeholder and community involvement plans.
Lead and manage a team of 6 direct reports managing a portfolio of road infrastructure projects across the Region. Drive and deliver project objectives and targets by modelling high performance behaviours including teamwork, initiative, and flexibility, and developing less experienced team members through mentoring and coaching.
Permanent full-time opportunity | Flexible Hybrid work mixing in-person days with WFH - Central West area based in either Orange, Dubbo, Bathurst, or Parkes.

About you
A seasoned Safety Works, Senior Project Manager you have an affinity for regional NSW and are inspired by the opportunity to make regional NSW a better place to live, work and enjoy.
You’re a natural communicator, at ease with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and have the ability to adapt your style to suit your diverse audience.
You also demonstrate expertise in:
- Managing the development of road and safety related infrastructure projects with demonstrated ability in project management, design management, procurement of professional service contracts, preparation of tender documents, contractor procurement, administration of contracts and surveillance of contractors.
- Effective implementation of quality assurance systems, WHS management, risk management and environmental management strategies on construction projects.
- The detailed development and implementation of infrastructure projects including monitoring, evaluating, managing and reporting on complex projects.
- Broad knowledge of the technical aspects of materials, equipment and techniques used in road construction and maintenance. This includes an understanding of road pavement types and their suitability to local environments; understanding of different treatment types, environmental risk identification and management,
- Must have - A four year civil engineering degree from an Australian University or equivalent overseas qualification and relevant professional experience.
