We are currently recruiting for a Senior Project Manager (Capital Works) for our client, a NSW Government agency in Sydney. This is an initial 7 month contract with strong possibility of extension and the pay rate is $950 per day + super. This role will work 2 days per week on site and 3 days WFH each week. Regional travel will be required monthly and an overnight stay may be required at times. Please note this is a construction focused role and experience in delivering government construction projects is essential.
the Project Manager manages and controls new construction and major refurbishments that are classified as major capital works by Treasury NSW. The role holder directs and coordinates those projects on a state-wide basis to ensure their delivery meets operational requirements.
Key accountabilities
- Ensure that capital works program is managed and delivered within budget, timeframe, quality parameters are met, and that accurate and timely reporting is provided.
- Identify, implement and maintain an appropriate project management methodology to ensure consistency and quality of projects
- Establish and maintain effective business relationships with senior managers, project sponsors and project owners
- Provide weekly updates on critical project milestones via the capital traffic light report.
- Tertiary level qualification is required in Building, Project Management or other relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Project Manager, ideally at Senior Project Manager level
- Experience in delivering capital works projects for NSW Government agencies (either client side or consultancy)
- Understanding and experience of GC21 procurement
