They are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager with Civil Design experience to join the team in Camden, with flexibility to work remotely from home. This is an estimated 6-month temporary assignment, with a potential to extend.
Working within the Major Projects Team, you will be required to provide Senior Project management services in relation to major new civil infrastructure projects in the LGA growth precincts. You will manage the design of infrastructure and project manage external design consultants whilst preparing detailed reports and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the allocation of appropriate resources to deliver major Civil Design projects
- Provide expert technical advice and strategic direction to other Project Managers and external consultants
- Participate in the review, development and improvement of work systems and practices to enhance customer service
- Represent the organisation in negotiating with stakeholders strategic outcomes
- Contribute to the development of policies that will improve capital works delivery
- Maintain up to date knowledge on legislation, policy and procedures
- Track, monitor and evaluate trends and issues, recommend continuous improvement initiatives whilst mitigating risks
- Working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop project briefs that clearly outline project objectives
- Monitor and scrutinise project plans, scope, milestones, budgets, status updates and deliverables to ensure all targets and KPI’s are being met
- Manage budget allocations, preparing regular financial reports
- Highlight any financial implications arising from changes to a project’s scope of works or contract variations
- Preparation of submissions, contract, quotation and tender documentation
- Engage, manage and supervise design consultants to produce high quality and cost effective design documentation for major road upgrade projects
- Ensure designs consider sustainability and life cycle costs
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels
- Strong computer literacy skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
- Solid analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering
- Demonstrated Project Management experience
- Extensive experience in investigation, survey, design and estimation of engineering projects, particularly major road upgrade projects
- Proven ability to manage design projects that were delivered on time and in budget
- Thorough understanding of Federal, State and Local Government, Roads and Traffic Authority and Austroads guidelines
- Physically capable of carrying out site inspections
- Understanding of community consultation required for major civil projects.
- Understanding of requirements and processes to acquire land required for major civil projects.
- Valid Drivers licence
- Reliable remote internet access with the ability to work independently from home
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
- Fully COVID vaccinated or medically exempt
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
