The role The City is preparing a Managed Growth Strategy to provide long term direction for housing change in Bendigo to meet growing population and diverse housing needs. The preparation of a Housing and Neighbourhood Character Strategy will help inform the Managed Growth Strategy by considering neighbourhood character, environmental and other constraints along with housing opportunities to provide greater direction around suitable locations for housing growth and change. In this position, you will project manage the finalisation of the Housing and Neighbourhood Character Strategy including preparing communication material, engaging with the community and stakeholders, helping prepare Planning Scheme Amendment documentation and presenting to Council. About You To be successful in this position, you will have: Experience in the preparation and project management of urban planning related strategies, plans and policies Experience in the preparation and facilitation of planning scheme amendments, including the drafting of planning scheme controls, the use of ATS, and responding to and negotiating submissions Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to undertake community consultation Strong time management skills and enjoy working in a team environment A satisfactory police records check is required for this position.
