The Role
The City is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to form part of the team for the management and delivery of large and complex capital works projects within the Strategic Projects team.
The role will predominantly be focused on the Alkimos Aquatic & Recreation Centre project, a key $80m project that the City is delivering in the northern corridor. This role will involve the SPM spending most of their week on site.
As a member of the Strategic Projects team, you will also be required to contribute to the delivery of other Strategic Projects, and therefore, the ideal candidate will have a multi-disciplinary skill set to work across a range of projects, with a particular focus on construction management.
Skills and Experience
As a collaborative member of the Strategic Projects team, you will be experienced in project management, and thrive working in a very busy and change driven organisation. Through your CV and covering letter, you will be able to demonstrate that you meet the following capabilities:
Qualifications, Requirements and Experience:
- University degree in relevant discipline such as construction management, project management, engineering and/or architecture, or, relevant experience in a related field.
- Significant experience in a Senior Project management role delivering complex capital works projects within a large and complex organisation.
- National Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
- C class Drivers Licence.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Advanced communication (written, verbal and public speaking) and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced research and analysis skills.
- Advanced negotiation and influencing skills.
- Advanced organisational skills.
- Advanced skills in the efficient utilisation of information systems and technology.
- Extensive knowledge of project management, resource planning and budget management.
- String contract and contractor management skills.
- Knowledge of the practical application of occupational health and safety measures in the workplace, including risk assessment and control implementation.
