Job Description:
To manage and coordinate the delivery of major infrastructure construction projects. Deliverables of this position include scope development, design coordination, tender preparation, contract administration and construction management which meets the needs of the Council's residents and ratepayers.
The location of this position is in Strathpine, Queensland.
Working from Monday, 18th of March until Friday, 21st of June also working hours are 8:00 am until 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities & Outcomes:
- Manage the delivery of major multidisciplinary infrastructure projects, fulfilling the role of Senior Project Manager and Superintendents Representative or Superintendent for construction projects.
- To provide professional engineering assistance and support across a broad range of disciplines and management processes.
- Act as a point of contact for project management matters by providing specialist advice, innovation and complex problem-solving.
- Ensure compliance with all legislation, approved standards, policies and procedures relating to project management practices and processes.
- Carry out the supervision of preconstruction activities such as project scope development, design cost estimation and constructability considerations.
- Develop and maintain ongoing working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including effective and efficient communication to ensure stakeholders are aware of the progress of their projects.
- Provide leadership and effective management of systems, processes, costs, quality control and resources for the program delivery of infrastructure assets.
- Develop and maintain efficient operational and management systems and procedures, and performance measures to continually improve work practices and performance.
- Develop and supervise staff in the delivery of capital infrastructure projects across a range of identified position responsibilities.
- Extensive experience in engineering, building, or architectural infrastructure projects.
- Highly developed ability to plan, organise, monitor and manage staff and contractors to ensure performance against agreed targets and standards.
- Strong experience in building productive relationships [s at all organisational levels across a range of departments through a collaborative approach.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills in the area of community consultation, liaison and public relations with a strong focus on the provision of quality customer service.
- Strong ability to manage and deliver timely outcomes whilst managing conflicting priorities.
- Actively contribute to fostering a healthy, inclusive and well-connected workplace.
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering, architecture, construction management or other relevant field.
- Postgraduate qualifications in project management are highly desirable.
- Current C class driver's licence
- Construction Induction Card competency that has been used or obtained within the past 2 years.
- RPEQ registration is desirable.
