Your New Role

Reporting to the Principal Investment Group Delivery, the role of the Senior Project Portfolio Manager is to:

  • Ensure the business outcomes and benefits are fully realised for the whole portfolio of projects and programs across the Investment Group by working closely with Investment Group Delivery and other members of the Investment Group.
  • Create, manage and coordinate core project / portfolio management activities and artefacts across governance and reporting, minutes, financial reporting and analysis, risk and issue management, resource management, vendor management, planning and scheduling in a rapid and fast-changing environment across the Investment Group portfolio.
  • Ensure ongoing maintenance of the integrity and integration of each component of the Investment Group portfolio, through oversight of progress and delivery; management of "in flight" and pipeline interdependencies; and ensuring that the benefits are delivered.


Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead the development of governance materials, including the documentation of minutes, in line with the Funds' delivery standards and stakeholder needs.
  • Drive project management discipline and embed the use of standard project management frameworks and use of tools across the program so that project information is readily accessible.
  • Support the Program and Project Managers in the adherence to Fund project management frameworks and the use of project management tools so that delivery is compliant and auditable.
  • Support projects to ensure that they progress through the standard project lifecycle, decision gates and comply with the Strategic Delivery Framework.
  • Proactively support the portfolio and program through the development and maintenance of program level artifacts.
  • Proactively identify program and project risks and issues and support the analysis and escalation of risks to facilitate an understanding of risk management and compliance requirements.
  • Act as an SME to the program and project managers leveraging available tools (PPM, Power BI) to furnish them with accurate information as required.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of portfolio and program level functions such as resource and vendor management and assurance activities.
  • Support the Principal Investment Group Delivery and key stakeholders to develop out the portfolio of projects including scoping and planning of future projects.
  • Support the financial management of the portfolio through financial and vendor management including forecasting, resource planning and statement of work tracking highlighting any issues without delay.
  • Hire and develop a high performing, diverse and engaged team who will support the successful delivery of the Fund's strategic ambitions, and are innovative, resilient and equipped to deal with ambiguity.
  • Ensure relevant legislative and organisational requirements are met; keep up to date on all key changes to relevant regulations.
  • Ensure risk is managed in accordance with the Fund's Risk Management Framework including risk identification and management, risk profiling, risk reporting and incident management.


What You'll Need

  • Extensive and diverse experience within Project/Program Management and/or Program Services in a similar environment
  • Excellent knowledge and application of standard project management methods, tools and techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills to assimilate and analyse large amount of data from multiple sources.
  • Must have experience developing Steering Committee Reports, Dashboards and Papers for Executives, Management Teams and/or Program Directors.
  • Experience of working within and supporting a 'gated' project and program governance framework
  • Demonstrated experience in agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work concurrently across multiple internal and external stakeholder groups.
  • Working knowledge of or ability to identify opportunities for the adoption and management of project processes and toolsets.
  • Solid time management and organisational skills, adaptable, open to change with ability to juggle conflicting priorities.
  • Knowledge of technology, operations, superannuation administration and/or financial products
  • Practical knowledge of portfolio management techniques, processes and artefacts.
  • Understanding of Investments terminology/products desirable
