The Property Officer will manage end-to-end tenancy agreements on managed lands, including negotiating and overseeing complex commercial agreements, leases, licences, permits, and consents. This role will drive innovation and efficiency in property management processes and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on property agreements to senior management and the executive team.
- Interpret and apply legislation such as the Parks Victoria Act 1998 and the Crown Land (Reserves) Act 1978.
- Lead and manage contract conditions for property agreements, ensuring optimal terms and risk management.
- Assess financial records and feasibility studies to evaluate commercial project viability.
- Conduct regular tenant meetings and premises inspections.
- Maintain accurate data in the CRM software, ParkConnect, and contribute to policy development.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Tertiary qualification in land and/or property management or equivalent experience.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in property leasing and management of complex portfolios.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Retail Leases Act 2003.
- Proven experience in compliance frameworks and conducting complex lease negotiations.
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and drafting skills.
- The ability to travel to rural and remote areas of Victoria as required.
- Valid driving licence and a current Employee Working with Children Check.
