Job description

Genesis Minerals are currently seeking an experienced Senior Purchasing Officer to join our Procurement team. This is a permanent opportunity, primarily based in our Perth Corporate Office.

Reporting to the Procurement Superintendent, you will support the efficient and effective management of inbound supply chain; encompassing the procurement, inventory management and distribution of materials and services necessary to Genesis operations. This role is important for maintaining uninterrupted production, optimising costs and supporting overall business objectives through strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and robust inventory control practices.

 The opportunity:

  • Assist procurement management team with the development and implementation of a competitive purchasing framework.
  • Oversee the entire procurement process, from requisition to purchase order issuance and order confirmation.
  • Source quotations for the supply of goods for site operations as required.
  • Negotiate and execute fixed price agreements for inventory where single supplier spend does not exceed formal agreement threshold.
  • Monitor and evaluate goods supplier performance, addressing any issues to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery, and a reduction in expediting and overdue order management processes.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including supplier information, agreements, and purchase orders.
  • Provide reports on purchasing activities, cost savings and supplier performance to management as requested.
  • Engage with site operations to address and resolve supply constraints caused by external factors. Generally, this problem-solving approach will require the sourcing of alternate materials to meet urgent or existing requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of an inventory management framework.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels to meet operational demands while minimising excess stock and shortages. Work closely with the site operations to ensure alignment on inventory and forecast requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in the material supply chain, including supply disruptions, lead time changes and quality issues.
  • Accurately create and maintain material master data records in accordance with Genesis policies and standards.
  • Oversee inventory reordering process, working closely with the site operations to ensure alignment on inventory and forecast requirements.
  • Track and manage repairable items to ensure they are promptly repaired and returned to inventory.
What you can expect from us:
  • A caring and supportive culture.
  • Professional and positive team environments on site, and at all facilities.
  • A 'grow our own' approach with a preference to develop and promote internally.
  • Access to professional development activities and educational assistance.
  • Competitive salary, and options for salary sacrificing.
What we will expect from you:
  • Significant demonstrated Purchasing experience, preferably in mining.
  • Demonstrated Inventory Management experience, preferably in mining.
  • Experience managing rotable and repairable goods.
  • Experience using Pronto (preferred) and/or equivalent ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook)
