Our experienced team are committed to adding value to our clients' businesses by assisting in enhancing their commercial position, avoiding disputes, achieving early resolution of contentious matters, and/or reaching a fair settlement over disputes.
We are seeking an experienced Claims Consultant with a strong background in claims management and dispute resolution to join the team in our new office in Brisbane.
Primary duties:
- Detailed analysis of documents relating to costing, claims, and any other relevant information required to analyse information provided on major disputes.
- Preparation of claims and/or rebuttal documents to litigation/arbitration standard.
- Support delivery of commission services in line with client briefs.
- Provide in depth quantum analysis in support of the Quantum expert.
- Actively contribute to business development and delivery of a full range of the company's services across a wide client base.
- Assist with the preparation of expert reports for formal dispute resolution proceedings.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- 15 years' experience working for a national contractor - either building or civil engineering or both and/or working with a leading claims consultancy firm.
- Experience in preparing and defending claims.
- Experience in dispute resolution, for example, adjudication and mediation.
- Experience in assisting quantum experts.
- Experience of business development, marketing, networking etc.
- Willingness to travel in Australia and possibly overseas.
- Must hold a BSc degree in a related discipline (Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management) and preferably hold some form of legal qualification or be working towards attaining an MSc in Construction Law or Post Graduate Diploma in Arbitration.
