Permanent Full-time Opportunity – 38 hours week – 9-day fortnight -7 day rotating roster
Offering a salary ranging from $81,196.44 - $94,363.36 per annum, depending on skills and experience PLUS 11% Superannuation PLUS Penalty rates for weekend work

The Opportunity
The purpose of this position is to provide guidance to the Ranger Services team and participate in the administration of local enforcement of relevant acts. This position will liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and interact with community members. The position will assist the Coordinator Compliance and Regulation by providing advice to the Rangers and participating in a business transformation model to achieve cultural change and succeed in accomplishing agreed service delivery outcomes.

About You

  1. Tertiary Qualifications in Local Government (Regulatory Control) or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a regulatory role in a local government context and 2 years mentoring experience with exposure to a variety of compliance scenarios within the Ranger’s portfolio of duties. Demonstrated ability to effectively apply and balance regulatory enforcement and educational approaches.
  2. Demonstrated extensive technical knowledge and practical demonstrated experience in application of
  3. statutory frameworks (including technical standards) relating to Companion Animals, Environmental, Compliance and Pollution, Illegal Dumping, Stock Control, Parking and Local Laws Enforcement.
  4. Proven experience in evidence-based research and the development of policy positions in a regulatory capacity and development of protocols and procedures for operational duties.
  5. Demonstrated experience in evidence preparation and participation in Courts of suitable jurisdiction in order to represent the Council in prosecution and defence of regulatory and compliance matters.
  6. Demonstrated well developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external and to negotiate outcomes and resolve conflict.
  7. Demonstrated ability to be resilient to work pressures and demands and has analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to critically analyse issues and develop and implement appropriate solutions.
  8. Demonstrated ability in coaching and mentoring teams, providing effective communication, enhancing, performance, and fostering a positive working culture.
  9. Hold and maintain current C Class Drivers Licence.
