About the role
OIC is currently experiencing a significant period of growth and we are looking for an experienced Recruitment Officer to join our team.
In this role you will have the opportunity to work closely with, and support hiring managers through end-to-end recruitment, including:
- Developing and evaluating role descriptions;
- Preparing job advertisements;
- Utilising various sourcing strategies to attract high-quality candidates;
- Providing administrative support to recruitment panels;
- Preparing appointment documentation; and
- Assisting with onboarding new employees.
Whilst this role is predominantly focused on recruitment, you will also have the opportunity to be exposed to other areas of HR, supported by an experienced Human Resources Business Partner.
About you
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Recruitment Officer with a thorough understanding of end-to-end recruitment processes. Ideally you will have:
- A strong knowledge of sourcing techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence others.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with hiring managers.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
OIC is an independent body that reports to Parliament. Our vision is an informed Queensland that values and respects information rights and responsibilities. We have a statutory role under the RTI Act and the IP Act to facilitate greater and easier access to information held by government agencies. We also assist agencies to understand their obligations under the IP Act to safeguard personal information that they hold. Our office reviews agency decisions about access to information, mediates privacy complaints, and monitors and reports on agency compliance to Parliament.

Please note this is a part-time 0.6 FTE opportunity – we are flexible with how the successful candidate would like to spread these hours across their work week.
