The Opportunity
Fixed Term Temporary Full-time position commencing 03.02.2025 up to 12 months.
Remuneration package of up to $272,700 p.a., comprising salary range of $6149.80 - $6776.80 p.f. (L10-L13) or $4822.20 - $5591.00 p.f. (L4-L9), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%). Vocational Training Program assistance (if applicable).
About the role
- Perform diagnostic and interventional angiography procedures under Consultant Supervision.
- The Cardiology Fellow is expected to supervise and assist Junior Medical Staff in the Coronary Care Unit and Cardiac Unit when appropriate.
- Assist with the efficient flow of workload/clinical service in the Cardiac Catheter Lab to ensure lists re undertaken as efficiently as possible.
- Ensures the provision of a safe work environment, work practices and minimise risks to self, staff and patients.
- Ensures all work undertaken is within own capacity, experience and training and does not accept duties beyond own abilities or scope of practice.
The Townsville University Hospital Cardiac Services Unit is the tertiary cardiac referral unit for North Queensland. The unit drains a population of approximately 650,000 people. The Cardiology Unit is part of the overall Surgical Service Group which includes Cardiothoracic surgery.
Requirements
- A medical degree registrable with the Medical Board of Australia, and at least 3 years post-graduate clinical experience in hospitals – mandatory.
- Completion of advanced training for the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, or equivalent.
- Ability to undertake after hours, weekends and on call work.
