Federal government department responsible in driving full employment and economic prosperity and welfare of all Australians. Currently looking for a Senior Regulatory Advisor to join their busy team for a temporary assignment until July 2024 (with potential for extension).
About the role:
This is a significant and multifaceted Legislation Advisory role, ranging from the development of new policy and amendments to effect the legislative overhaul of the Act, the redesign of the Payment Times Reporting Scheme, and implementation of the regulatory operations functions for the Payment Times Reporting Regulator. In addition, you will:
- Oversight and implementation of the legislative changes including operational readiness of the Regulator to transition to the new scheme
- Align amendments to existing regulatory frameworks (e.g., Australian Accounting Standards, Corporations Act 2001).
- Provide advice on ICT requirements to align with legislative changes, including establishing the systems requirements for case management
- Stress test legislative amendments to ensure operational efficacy and efficiency
- Lead consultation processes with other Government departments and external stakeholders.
- Provide subject matter expertise for end-to-end design of regulatory framework (legislation through to guidance materials and enforcement).
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Previous experience in a Legislation or Regulatory Advisory role
- Proven background within the government industry is a must!
- Excellent skills in developing and analysing policies to guide the design, implementation, and modification of government or commercial operations and programs.
- Experience in leading and managing people and outcomes, using initiative and judgement
- High-level stakeholder engagement skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills
- Immediate start pending clearance
- Temporary assignment until July 2024
- $80 - $100 per hour + super
- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
- Perth WA location
