You will join a supportive team that is trusted for its integrity, professionalism and expertise.
The ERA is looking for a Senior Regulatory Analyst in the Energy Markets division. In this role you will use your research and analytical skills in a regulatory environment. This position leads and supports small to large-scale projects relating to the regulation of the Western Australian energy sector.
This selection process will initially be used to fill one permanent vacancy in the division. Further appointments to the same or similar positions may be made as and when opportunities arise in the next 12 months.
About the Role
You will research, undertake and initiate a variety of complex and sensitive projects, including reviews and approvals of various price and cost related aspects of WA’s wholesale electricity market. This will include using, developing and enhancing economic/financial/ mathematical/statistical analyses or models to provide relevant information and outputs and also preparing draft determinations and decisions.
About the ERA
The ERA is the independent regulator of electricity, gas, water and rail in Western Australia. Our purpose is to benefit all Western Australians by promoting strong economic outcomes through effective regulation and decision making. We strive to make sure current and future consumers pay no more than necessary for safe and reliable utilities.
The Energy Markets division monitors market participant behaviour, investigates and enforces compliance with the market rules, and supports the operation and development of the Wholesale Electricity Market by developing procedures, methods and conducting regulatory reviews.
We are one of two regulatory divisions at the ERA; the other being Regulation which administers licensing schemes for the electricity, gas and water industries and reviews and makes decisions on access to regulated monopoly infrastructure in the electricity, gas and rail industries.
How we work is just as important to us as what we do. Our people have integrity, strive for excellence, and build trust.
