At Energy Queensland we are delivering on customers’ expectations for the transition to clean, safe, and affordable energy and have technical design opportunities as part of the (QEJP).The Role & Requirements:We seeking a Senior Civil / Structural Engineer to support the design and construction of grid scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) to deliver affordable energy as we are powering towards 80% renewable energy by 2035.Leading a team of substation engineers and paraprofessionals, you will oversee multiple BESS projects from the design through to the construction phase. This is your chance to take on a leadership role where you will develop and grow a new team through the provision of quality supervision, support, coaching and mentoring. You will need to be an organised multi-tasker effective at planning, scheduling, and assigning / prioritising your team objectives.Your day to day will be design drafting, providing technical direction, procurement of plant, minor and major civil contract management, external stakeholder management and reviewing / approving engineering reports and technical documentation.In addition to your Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, you are also registered as a Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ). You’ll have extensive experience in the building and structural works relevant to high voltage substations and power stations as well as demonstrated experience in contract management.The position has been evaluated as a Professional & Managerial 3 (PM3). The level of payment will be subject to an assessment of the successful applicant’s knowledge, skills and competencies that are required in this position.
