AddressRole:Senior Report Developer: Power BI
Daily Rate: $1000 + Super
Contract Length: 6 months
Locations: Sydney/WFH
As Senior Report Developer, you'll be responsible for the end-to-end process of developing, testing, deploying and managing reports and datasets for our NSW Energy client. You will collaborate closely with key stakeholders to define functional requirements and ensure reports meet these needs.
You will also collaborate and cooperate with the data modeler to guarantee precise reporting from multiple data sources, as well as efficient data modeling and transformation
Key Responsibilities
- Capture and direct the requirements gathering, understanding the business problem and how reporting analytics can be used to solve the problem and working with a larger analytics team to build the non-reporting components that suit the desired reporting outcomes.
- Conduct key stakeholder meetings to gather functional specification requirements
- Develop and maintain data analytics solutions, including data visualisations, to meet the needs of key stakeholders
- Develop, test and deploy solutions to multiple environments; and maintain technical documentation for these solutions
- Review and analyse systems to ensure adequate performance and maintenance, ensuring that data pipelines and data stores are efficient, organised and reliable
- In conjunction with data owners and business units, develop models, procedures, and protocols for reporting in line with business requirements
- Assist in the design of databases and data warehouses to ensure interoperability with data solutions
- Perform data profiling and analysis and create ad-hoc data models, reports and analysis as needed to support business requirements
- Understand and develop security controls implemented within the supported systems ensuring that we are not exposed to unnecessary risk
- Analyse user requirements and, based on findings, design functional specifications for front-end Applications
- Implement Power BI row-level security to ensure data confidentiality
- Utilize Power BI tabular editor for advanced Power BI configuration and Power BI incremental load to enhance data refresh processes
- Assist with the establishment and on-going maintenance of knowledge management, education and awareness, continuous improvement, and risk management within the business
About You
- Degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Management, Information Technology, or relevant field.
- Extensive experience in business intelligence, reporting/analytics, and data solutions.
- Proficiency in Power BI Premium and data warehousing architecture.
- Understanding of Kimball modelling and star schemas
- Experience with Databricks is advantageous
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to innovate, strategize, and deliver outcomes within ICT frameworks.
