Senior Reporting Analyst

Full time, 12-month Contract Role

We are recruiting a newly created role as Senior Reporting Analyst to join our BI team. Reporting the Head of Business Insights, this role will be crucial in shaping the business’s performance reporting and analytics platforms to drive business decision-making. You will be focused on consistency and accuracy of reporting in line with changing business requirements. The role is collaborative and will work with the insights and commercial teams to understand functional data requirements. You will partner with local and regional tech teams to support the building, testing and maintenance of GSK’s Australian performance reporting. You will be the owner of local reporting solutions and play a central role in supporting the business with report accuracy and consistency.

As part of your role, you will steward local metric definitions, reporting documentation and be the subject matter expert and point of contact for data accuracy. You will also focus on data democracy within the business insights team, enabling access to accurate data through GSKs market leading Azure infrastructure and PowerBI tools. Master list management of customer and geographical data is a critical part of the role.

You will act as the subject matter expert in the insights team for the Azure and Microsoft power platforms and have a role in assisting and upskilling team members on the use of these platforms.

Your responsibilities will be broad and will include:

  • Build and maintain local insights reporting using SQL, Python etc. and Microsoft power platforms.
  • Build and maintain reporting solutions based on complex business requirements, focusing on delivering business insights
  • Respond to data and report related queries and proactively work to identify and solve data issues
  • Ownership GSKs performance reporting (automated and Excel based), working with local and regional tech to ensure data consistency and accuracy
  • A strong ability to translate business needs to design; and develop tools, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualisation
  • Act as the business insights lead on reporting development projects, working closely with local and regional tech teams to drive business insights and performance reporting
  • Act as the point of contact for external data providers to ensure access to data and correct data ingestion in partnership with regional BAaaS and Tech teams
  • Work with BI lead’s and collaborate with local operations to streamline and manage master data for territory alignments and customer data management.
  • Lead data accuracy assessments for issue resolution and project user acceptance testing with the support of business insights leads.
  • Delivery of routine local manual reporting requirements focused on continuous improvement, streamlining and automation.
  • Lead data democratisation within the Business Insights team.
  • Act as the subject matter expert in Business Insights for the Azure and Microsoft power platforms to enable self-service.
  • Responsible for developing and executing tools to monitor and report on data quality.
To be successful you will have:
  • Previous experience as a reporting analyst or several years in a data analyst position in a fast-paced dynamic business setting, working with local and regional teams.
  • Excellent Technical Skills/Ms Office/Software and a strong understanding of coding languages like SQL and Python.
  • BA in Computer Science, Data Science or similar. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience working with Microsoft power platform or similar and databases like Azure or similar
  • Project management skills, including agile would be beneficial.
  • Demonstratable deep interest in research and data analysis, identifying and resolving data integrity issues to improve consistency and accuracy of data and reporting.
  • Understanding statistical and econometric modelling, quantitative analysis, data mining and high-level data engineering Skills.
  • Ability to understand and translate business requirements into simplified easy to use business insights tools.
  • Ability to leverage large, multi-dimensional data sets to drive business decisions
  • Work cross-functionally with Tech and commercial teams.
  • Natural ability to collaborate with people and establish strong and meaningful relationships with others.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
