The Faculty Research and Development team supports the implementation of the Faculty's Strategy in respect to research.

About the Role 

The Faculty's Research team is currently recruiting for a Senior Research Grants and Contracts Officer to join the Faculty on a full-time, fixed term basis. The Senior Research Grants and Contracts Officer is an integral part of the Faculty's Research team. The role is responsible for providing academic and professional staff with the tools to enable them to undertake pre-award processes through training and support. 

The role is also responsible for the design, implementation, and improvement of existing Faculty internal grant schemes as well as coordination and implementation of centrally funded internal grant opportunities. The position monitors and reports on the Faculty's performance, implements funding support mechanisms, and facilitates research KPI analysis and reports. With flexibility in mind, we will be offering the incumbent the opportunity to work remotely for 1-2 days per week on occasion.

As the ideal candidate, you will possess:

• Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment, negotiate outcomes and solve problems 

• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to use tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters; build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders 

• Proven ability to work in a team, ability to deal with conflicts and foster positive team culture 

• Demonstrated ability to plan work flow and work under pressure to meet competing deadlines 

• Demonstrated excellence in client service delivery and strong commitment to continuous improvement

• Sound knowledge of the research landscape, opportunities, challenges and constraints

Remuneration

Base Salary Range: $102,458 to $113,344 pa (HEW 7)

This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.

This position is full-time and the appointment will be made on a fixed term basis until September 2027 (3 years, 4 months).
