The Role

You’ll be providing specialist support in delivering a high-quality and consistent organisation-wide approach to community and social research.

The Senior Research Officer will provide subject matter expert advice on the best approach to designing, conducting and evaluating community research outcomes to inform business decisions. Partnering with internal service owners, you’ll be enabling informed descion making across the organisaiton in line with strategic objectives. You’ll be helping teams improve their data literacy in order to partner for design and delivery of community research that collects the information needed to deliver high quality service for the best community outcomes.

The position will play a vital role within the Advocacy and Community Research team in identifying current and future social issues, conducting community research and keeping abreast of trends and emerging issues relevant to Council’s corporate plans and business decisions.

About you
A strong communicator and collaborator, you’ll thrive in an environment where you’re working across a range of projects and in partnership with colleagues across the organisation. Driving an enterprise approach to community research to enhance Council’s decision making, your efforts will inform better outcomes and deliverables for the community. You’ll have a good eye for detail and the skills to convert information into meaningful intervention with simplicity. Ideally you will have had some experience in the fields of research, policy development, social planning or community engagement.
