The Opportunity The Human Development and Community Wellbeing Team is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified Senior Research Officer to join their multi-disciplinary team. The role of the Senior Research Officer will be to support the research projects linked to the Data for Policy Portfolio within the ARC Centre of Excellence for Children and Families Over the Life Course - The Life Course Centre.

The Senior Research Officer will be responsible for multiple areas of research specifically linked to projects involving person-level linked administrative data, from both government and other sources such as the NGO service sector. This role will support the data-focused projects within the Life Course Centre and conduct tasks including; managing ethics and governance, data management, contributing to academic writing and scholarly outputs, providing support to the Senior research staff and WA Node Director, managing and analysing complex data, and working with multiple stakeholders. This includes supporting workshops and other stakeholder engagement processes linked to relevant Life Course Centre projects in the Data for Policy Portfolio.

About You

  • PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (economics, statistics, epidemiology, psychology, and population health, or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience in academic writing (e.g., scholarly publications, report writing, grant writing).
  • Evidence of research experience in a relevant person-level data-related discipline, including experience with large-scale person-level and linked data management and analysis.
  • Experience in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships beyond the research landscape (e.g. NGO's, government, other educational bodies).
  • Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills including ability for strategic thinking and develop appropriate strategies.
