Eligibility: Open to EveryoneThe OpportunityWe have an opportunity for a Senior Research Services Officer - Vessels to be part of our South Australian Research and Development Institute within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.The primary purpose of the role is to co-ordinate and manage SARDI’s research coastal vessel fleet. This includes scheduling vessel operations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and overseeing maintenance and procurement processes.The incumbent will collaborate with research teams to plan and execute field work and liaise with external stakeholders to optimise vessel usage that supports strategic science initiatives and the delivery of the agency’s priorities and divisional objectives.This role requires an understanding of PIRSA’s Corporate Plan, SARDI’s Divisional Plan, and an ability to seek opportunities to progress initiatives.About UsSouth Australia is internationally recognised for the quality of its agriculture, food, and wine. • Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
• Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).

Requirements

• Possession of a current driver’s license and willingness to drive.
• Regular intra-state and occasional inter-state travel.
• Regular work outside normal working hours, including field trips on research and commercial vessels.
• You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations.
• The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.
