Senior Revit Draftsperson

G2 Netting develops and manufactures large scale proprietary flexible netting design solutions for the horticultural industry. The company focuses on the structured layout and engineering, component level design, analysis, manufacturing, material supply and installation for high intensity horticultural applications.

G2 Netting has an important role to play in the Australian food and agribusiness ecosystem, being responsible for the advanced manufacturing of premium netting structures that support the development of high intensity horticultural crop production, such as apples, pears, cherries and avocadoes. G2 Netting’s proprietary netting technologies address two critical issues when it comes to meeting Australia’s future ‘Food & Agribusiness’ roadmap for food supply requirements; increase yield (production efficiency) and quality (premium products).

Based in our Sheidow Park office, G2 Netting Systems require a full time designer to keep up with our growing demand and assist in developing new structures for the future.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Interpret design briefs provided by the sales team and establish functional requirements.
• Develop and design horticultural structures in Autodesk Revit to satisfy the requirements within cost, schedule and risk constraints.
• Liaise with sales and planning to ensure the client requirements are met.
• Understand and operate engineering calculators to verify structural compliance.
• Use company tools to estimate structure cost.
• Responsible for contracting surveyor services, and integrating survey data.
• Use automated analysis techniques such as Dynamo to improve design performance.
• Communicate and coordinate with appropriate internal personnel, including regular liaison with sales & marketing.
• Maintain working relationships with partner companies.
• Reports to the Lead Design Estimator.

Skills, Characteristics, Qualities and Experience Required for This Position: 

• Experienced Autodesk Revit operator, minimum 5+ years commercial drafting experience. Experience using Dynamo for Revit desirable.
• Understands and can create & modify Revit families and schedules.
• Ability to interpret survey, irrigation and agricultural planting plans.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task, act quickly and solve problems.
• Takes ownership and initiative.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Experience using AutoCAD mandatory.
• Experience using MS Excel mandatory.
