Fortescue Group Risk, Assurance and Insurance (GRAI) is seeking a Risk Senior to support its growing Energy business. A suitably qualified professional will be appointed to deliver high quality solutions that are aligned with both Fortescue’s risk management framework and its business objectives.
The Risk Senior Advisor will be a member of the GRAI team, with full access to that team’s expertise, peer support and professional development opportunities, while working day-to-day with a variety of teams in Fortescue’s Energy business.
The successful candidate will be an outgoing individual who is confident in engaging with a wide range of Fortescue team members, while possessing a solid foundation of technical skills and an appetite for professional development in a dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and facilitate the delivery of risk identification and assessment workshops within the Energy business.
- Provide credible advice on how risks are assessed, effectiveness of existing or planned controls and how risk management can support effective decision making.
- Work with the stakeholders to support the development of controls to minimise risk exposures.
- Delivery of risk identification and assessment workshops with stakeholders across business operations and projects.
- Establishing and improving business processes, systems and ways of working.
- Advising on identifying and assessing risks, identifying controls and assessing their effectiveness, and responding to ineffective controls with appropriate remediation plans.
- Become highly skilled in the use Fortescue’s risk management software solution and provide oversight, coaching and support to other users of the system.
- Contribute to development of reports and presentation for senior management, Steering Committees and the Board.
Qualifications and Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in the delivery of risk management services within industry and/or a professional services environment.
- Exposure to the renewable energy sector and new country entry for globally expanding businesses is highly regarded.
- Oversight and monitoring of application of risk frameworks by the business owners of risks and controls.
- Methodical and consistent in applying risk management frameworks.
- Adept at fostering constructive relationships with a broad group of internal stakeholders across the business to drive uptake of good risk management practices.
- Well-developed analytical skills and demonstrated capability in synthesising large, complex and varied sources of information into meaningful but concise conclusions and insights delivered in reports and presentations.
- Resilient and adaptable when facing ambiguity or uncertainty in a fast paced, rapidly changing business environment.
