About the role:
Are you passionate about fostering a culture of excellence through effective risk management and Compliance?
We are looking for an additional team member for the Risk and Compliance Team while we undertake a major project for a new Risk, Compliance and Safety system. As Senior Risk and Compliance Officer, you will provide specialised advice on and professional support for the development, implementation and reporting of Risk and Compliance frameworks within Brisbane Catholic Education.
Your key responsibilities:
Play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining our Risk and Compliance programs. Your expertise will be instrumental in providing guidance and support to our leadership team, managers, and schools, ensuring a robust risk management framework across the organisation.

• Program Development and Implementation: Drive the evolution of our Risk and Compliance programs and enhance BCE's risk management strategies.
• Specialised Advisory: Offer expert advice, assisting BCEO managers and BCE school leaders in understanding and navigating complex risk-related challenges.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee the operational aspects of risk management and Compliance, maintaining registers and developing materials to strengthen our programs.
• Control Monitoring and Reporting: Collaborating with Risk and Compliance stakeholders to monitor, report and effectively manage risks and to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
• Risk Mitigation: Provide specialised support to various functions and schools, aiding in the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks.
• Cultural Transformation: Foster a culture of Risk and Compliance intelligence, guiding the organisation towards a heightened understanding and appreciation of these critical domains.
• Compliance Reviews: Lead and coordinate compliance reviews, including comprehensive school accreditation compliance assessments.
• Strategic Insight: Undertake research and analysis, presenting recommendations to proactively resolve problems and mitigate potential risks.

About you: To be successful in this role you will demonstrate

• Demonstrated experience in the fields of risk, compliance or assurance
• Relevant qualifications in management, risk management, auditing, governance or in a relevant field is preferable
• Have a good understanding of Risk and Compliance management processes
• Have a proactive approach towards achieving outcomes and work efficiently as an individual
