The company is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia and has offices in the UK, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Guatemala, Philippines, and Bahamas.
The Senior Security Engineer will report to Eightcap's Cyber Security Lead and will be instrumental in the technical implementation of security controls.
This role aims to enhance security across Eightcap's global network infrastructure, primarily using AWS cloud services, and will address unique security challenges in different locations as part of a program designed to uplift Eightcap's security posture and achieve ISO27k certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and configure Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) systems.
- Establish log forwarding from various sources into centralised tools.
- Monitor and analyse security events to detect, investigate, and collaborate with engineers to respond to incidents promptly and effectively.
- Implement IDAM solutions and processes e.g. Single Sign-On and Privileged Access Management.
- Assist in the management of user access controls and permissions to ensure proper authentication and authorisation.
- Assist in the review of access rights and assist in the management of the identity lifecycle.
- Implement network security measures such as intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Configure and manage Web Application Firewalls (WAF) to protect web applications.
- Collaborate with developer teams to integrate security practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Work in conjunction with Eightcap's infrastructure team to ensure secure device and asset management.
- Support the implementation of ISO27001/ISO27002 controls to achieve and maintain certification.
- Develop and maintain documentation for compliance with ISO27k standards.
- Participate in internal and external audits related to ISO27k.
Who are you?
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cyber security
- Proven experience in implementing and managing security controls and processes.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM and SOAR systems.
- knowledge of identity management solutions and processes.
- Experience with network and web security technologies
- Demonstrated ability to monitor, analyse, and respond to security events and incidents.
- Experience with cloud security, particularly in AWS environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience in DevSecOps systems and processes
- Experience in asset and device management
- Commitment to staying current with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies
- Knowledge of scripting and automation for security operations.
- Experience in integrating and utilising threat intelligence feeds to enhance security operations.
