Senior Security Systems Officer

Location: Parramatta

Employment type: Ongoing Full Time

Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8, $106,025 to $117,363 pa plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading

Your role

The Senior Security Systems Officer is responsible for coordinating infrastructure service delivery and stakeholder engagement across DCJ on security related services, assets and programs designed to provide a safe and secure environment for employees, stakeholders, contractors and visitors.

What you’ll do

As part of the Major Program Delivery team with Infrastructure and Assets, the incumbent will develop strong partnerships across the Cluster to incrementally improve security services related activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Coordinating and overseeing effective delivery of planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance programs for electronic Security Systems to DCJ
  • Leading and coordinating DCJ systems administration through providing key technical advice and end-to-end management of electronic security programs and solutions within DCJ facilities
  • Coordinating and liaising with stakeholders on security related soft services to support the Infrastructure Support Services contract across the Department including management of security guarding, concierge services, mobile patrols and alarm monitoring services
  • Assist with preparing technical documents such as security project briefs, tenders, plans, and managing financial allocations to ensure that operational and asset management priorities and budgets are met
  • Assist and contribute to the development of security services protocols, procedures and guidelines to support a continuously secure working environment for the diverse asset and operating requirements of DCJ
  • Provide technical advice regarding security issues to support informed decision making and effective integration of security within the Department.
  • Assist other Infrastructure and Assets staff with the achievement of their key accountabilities, as required.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Possess, or have the ability to obtain, and maintain a minimum Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance (desirable)
  • Possess, or have the ability to obtain, and maintain a minimum Australian Government Baseline security clearance and a favourable Criminal Records Inquiry (CRI) (essential)
  • Qualifications in security risk management or demonstrated equivalent experience (desirable)
  • Electronic security-related qualifications or demonstrated equivalent experience (essential)

What we’re looking for

In addition to meeting the essential requirements, the successful candidate must demonstrate strong capabilities in:

  • Significant experience with electronic Security Systems in complex operating environments including security product knowledge and systems integration
  • Experience in designing and implementing security strategies, policies, plans and programs
  • Commitment to learning and keeping up-to-date with contemporary security knowledge and practices.
