Osborne Richardson are delighted to be assisting NSW's Department of Communities and Justice with a fantastic Senior Security System Officer role. With this unique position, we are offering an opportunity to join the Stronger Communities Cluster, based in Parramatta, Sydney. This is an outstanding 6 month position, with huge potential to be extended even further.
As Senior Security System Officer, your role will see you manage electronic and people and asset protection systems and services to ensure compliance with legislation and effective management of security related risk.
Your day-to-day will involve a range of responsibilities and accountabilities, such as:
- Implementation of highly effective people and asset protection systems including camera, access and perimeter systems to provide a robust and proactive people and asset protection related security infrastructure to the Department.
- Support management in the development of priorities, policies and guidelines that provide a continuously secure working environment with minimal disruption to Department facilities.
- Assist in the establishment and maintenance of security standards and advise on specifications and security policies to support a framework for security compliance.
- Review the performance of Department security control rooms, electronic alarm transmission protocols, and alarm response and contracted guard and patrol services to develop equipment upgrade and improvement programs.
- Develop and implement security projects to provide the most appropriate solutions to the diverse security environment of the Department operates and review responses to security emergency incidents and documentation of Department security compliance measures to improve risk management and ensure compliance.
- Provide technical advice regarding security issues to support informed decision making and effective integration of security within the Department.
- Assist other corporate security staff with the achievement of their key accountabilities, as required.
You will thrive in this role if you have experience in:
- Managing competing priorities and high volumes of work effectively within tight timeframes and limited resources to ensure delivery of Department objectives and priorities.
- Liaising with a broad range of stakeholders to extract information relevant to Department security management and developing a program that meets the needs of all stakeholders and provide solutions to a diverse security environment.
Key knowledge and experience for this role include:
- Providing and maintaining updated conflict of interest deeds to ensure the highest levels of independence.
- Significant experience with electronic Security Systems in complex operating environments including security product knowledge and systems integration
Essential requirements for this role include:
- Possess, or have the ability to obtain, and maintain a minimum Australian Government Baseline security clearance and a favourable Criminal Records Inquiry (CRI).
- Electronic security-related qualifications or demonstrated equivalent experience.
