About the role:We are seeking a skilled Senior Python Engineer to join our Higher Education Squad within ReadyTech's Education segment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for writing and testing scalable code, developing back-end components, and integrating user-facing elements in collaboration with frontend developers.We are looking to write a new service in Python for implementing the higher education capabilities in our flagship product JRPlus which is a student management system. This service will interface with the JRPlus student management system to extend it into the higher education space.

- Write effective, scalable code in Python
- Develop back-end components to improve responsiveness and overall performance
- Integrate user-facing elements into applications
- Ensure code quality through rigorous code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration practices, maintaining high code coverage.
- Contribute to innovation and problem-solving initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve existing systems, processes, and technologies.
- Implement security and data protection solutions
- Assess and prioritize feature requests
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Continually improve domain and technical knowledge through professional development
More about you:- You possess excellent communication skills and can comfortably communicate complex technical matters to both technical and non-technical minded stakeholders
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can adapt and multi-task with ease
- You have strong interpersonal skills, and whilst you can work well autonomously, you also enjoy working with others to achieve your goals
- You have exceptional organisation skills, and have a keen sense of urgency and prioritisation, knowing when something can wait and when something can't
- You have a strong ability to design technical solutions for complex business problems.
- You have an advanced proficiency with Python programming language, with expertise in at least one popular Python framework (like Django, Flask or Pyramid).
- Knowledge of object-relational mapping (ORM).
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (like JavaScript and HTML5). Strong unit test and debugging skills
- Solid skills in software version control with Git
- Expertise with Python libraries and frameworks to deliver software with scalability and availability.
- 7-8 year's experience with Python programming language
