Bankwest's Technology Division develops and executes all technical change within the organisation ensuring the leverage of technology to deliver the Bankwest strategy. The Division works on a wide variety of technologies and projects with the support of a dedicated team in an Agile methodology. Our team is responsible for the world-leading application of technology and operations across every aspect of the bank - from product platforms for our customers, to essential tools within our business.
You'll be part of Product and Digital Services team in the squad which looks after the core of our lending origination platform. Our focus is on people who either own a home or aspire to own a home. We are looking for engineers who want to bring an amazing customer experience to those people, and we have the team and backing to make it a reality. We want to remove friction from the home owning journey, and we believe your creativity and innovation can make it happen. With a focus on the Home Buying customer journey, you'll be embedded into a cross functional squad that is self-managing with end-to-end responsibility.
As a Senior Software Engineer you'll be responsible for designing, delivering, and optimising a specific customer and user-focused outcomes. You'll also be required to inspire your team to do the same and remain resilient in the face of change, harbour a passion to grow and to influence those around you to think differently by having a growth mindset. Also, you'll proactively identify, understand, openly discuss, and act on current and future risks.
We're interested in hearing from people who:
- Have demonstrated experience in large and complex enterprise environments, preferably in banking & financial services, or similar large enterprise environments
- Are passionate about building high quality software solutions with comprehensive test coverage
- Have ability to develop scalable and secure enterprise applications
- Have solid hands-on experience in software development within an Agile and DevOps environment
- Are actively involved in continuous learning, experimentation and innovation while contributing to the definition and governance of our standards and best practices
- Are constantly thinking outside the box and breaking boundaries to solve complex technical problems Works well in teams and have strong collaboration skills in driving continuous improvement initiatives
Tech Skills:
We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java
- Sound understanding of application and system security best practices
- REST APIs including creation of Open API specifications
- Configuration as Code to manage your application configuration
- Source control systems (Git) and CI/CD toolsets (Teamcity, Jenkins, Octopus Deploy)
- Proven track record of managing multitenancy and security implications
