Job description

Senior Speech Pathologist, Ear Nose & Throat (permanent, part-time)

Tasmanian Health Service, South

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Senior Speech Pathologist to be part of our new Ear Nose & Throat (ENT) Speech Pathology team. The successful applicant will work within our forming ENT Speech Pathology team to deliver services to inpatients and outpatients who have been referred to ENT for input regarding voice, swallow and/or upper airway disorders. The ENT Speech Pathology team is an integral part of our larger vibrant and supportive team of approximately 20 Speech Pathologists who work across several diverse and specialist fields.

Evidence of your competence in Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study (VFSS), Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES), Nasendoscopy and/or Videostroboscopy will be highly regarded. Your ongoing learning will be supported through a generous Professional Development (PD) budget, paid travel expenses to attend interstate PD events, active clinical supervision and peer support programs.  

This position will be based at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH), the state’s tertiary referral centre and major University teaching hospital. The RHH sits a block away from the iconic Hobart waterfront, and is centrally located for easy access to good food, craft drinks and events such as Dark MOFO.

In this role, you'll become a part of our leadership team, contributing to service development and holding a Speech Pathology leadership portfolio. You'll mentor and support your peers, junior staff, and students from the University of Tasmania's Masters of Speech Pathology program.

Details of Appointment

Permanent, part time, day worker position working 60.8 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. 

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant

  • Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.

Salary:

$106,966 - $123,013 per annum + 11% superannuation + access to salary packaging

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Professional Development Allowance of up to $1000 per annum
  • Please note that access to salaries beyond $111,964 is subject to qualifications and/or application to the personal upgrade scheme 
  • Salary range is in accordance with the Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement No. 2 of 2022

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by Speech Pathology Australia
  2. Eligible for membership with the Speech Pathology Australia
    Or where regulatory requirements exist, NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements
  3. Full member of Speech Pathology Australia

  1. Current Driver’s Licence
