Job description


This is a Recruitment Pool for Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time, and Casual appointments, with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. 

We currently have various vacancies available to be filled, including a permanent part time appointment at 22.8 hours per fortnight.

This pool may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the health service. This may also include Kalamunda Health Service or a weekend service.

Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector.

Other Conditions:  WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. WA Health policies require applicants to undertake criminal records screening and integrity checking as part of the appointment process. Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/11/2025. 

Position Profile: As part of a multidisciplinary team, this role provides Speech Pathology services for the acute medical and surgical wards including ICU within Armadale Health Service to patients requiring assessment, diagnosis and management of communication and swallowing disorders. The Senior Speech Pathologist advises and trains staff in relation to complex disorders and policy and procedures; plans, implements and evaluates patient safety and quality of care; and practices as a Senior Speech Pathologist and ensures practice is in accordance to the Speech Pathology Australia Code of Ethics, the Speech Pathology Australia Scope of Practice and EMHS policies and guidelines.
 Area Profile: Armadale Health Service (AHS) is a general hospital focused on providing a range of high quality health care services in the community. The hospital, which is part of the Armadale Kalamunda Group, is equipped with an Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit and provides high-quality general medical and surgery services, rehabilitation, maternity, paediatric and neonatal, mental health, renal medicine and dialysis services and ambulatory care. Kalamunda District Community Hospital (KDCH) is a specialist hospital and is part of the Armadale Kalamunda Group. The hospital provides both day surgical procedures and a specialist inpatient palliative care service for patients in the east metropolitan area.
