AddressOur client is a respected local council within Gippsland who is currently seeking a professional and experienced Principal Statutory Planner to join their team.
About the Role
In this dynamic position, you will spearhead the processing of planning permit applications, encompassing multi-lot residential subdivisions, heavy industry, commercial, and state-significant developments across our vibrant municipality. Your role extends beyond the desk, involving the preparation and presentation of submissions to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, active representation in planning forums, and valuable contributions to strategic planning projects. As a mentor within the Regional City Planning team, you will play a pivotal role in fostering the growth and liveability for this local government.
The role will be subject to a Current Police & WWCC (Employee). The full-time remuneration package is $90k-$100k plus superannuation, dependant on candidate experience. There are hybrid working arrangements available as well.
About You
- Relevant experience in processing planning permit applications, with exposure to multi-lot residential subdivisions, heavy industry, commercial, and state-significant developments.
- Tertiary degree in a related field or significant experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to represent the Council effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic planning projects and support sustainable growth initiatives.
- Experience in mentoring and supporting junior staff members.
- Experience in management and assessment of a range of subdivision applications and planning
Specific Role Details
- Application load will depend on the number of applications being received at any point in time. However, this position will range between 15-25 planning permit applications.
- Other file loads include any secondary consent, certification and statement of compliance (if required), section 173 agreement review, extension of time etc.
- Processing a variety of planning permit applications including multi-lot residential subdivisions, heavy industry and commercial and state-significant developments across our municipality.
