PlanningDo you want to make an IMPACT?The RoleWe have an exciting opportunity
to join our Regional City Planning team as a Senior Statutory Planner. The role
represents an opportunity to work collaboratively alongside a team of planning
professionals to deliver real results for our community.As part of the Statutory Planning
team, you will provide input into strategic planning and policy issues and
implement the statutory planning functions of Council.Your key responsibilities will
include but are not limited to:Processing
a variety of planning permit applications including subdivisions,
multi-dwelling developments, industrial and commercial developments across our
municipality.Preparing
and presenting submissions to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.Assisting
the community, applicants and key stakeholders with planning enquiries.Representing
Council and participating in planning forums and networking events.Assisting
with statutory support in the preparation of strategic planning projects to
inform planning policy and Latrobe's sustainable growth and liveability.Other duties will include:Undertake
occasional strategic planning to facilitate the continuous improvement of
planning practice.Contribute
to the development of a stronger more viable Latrobe City Council to help
Council to play a greater role in establishing the Latrobe region as one of the
most competitive regions in Australia.About YouYou will have a commitment to
providing excellent customer service to both our internal departments and our
external customers. You will have experience in managing and accessing a range
of planning applications along with managing competing demands of stakeholders,
ensuring the assessment of applications is undertaken in an accurate and
efficient manner.You will also need:A
relevant tertiary degree or lesser formal qualification with substantial
relevant experienceA sound
understanding of the Victorian Planning Policy framework and Urban Planning
regulatory frameworkExperience
working as a Statutory Planner within public and/or private organisationsUnderstanding
of regional planning issuesSuccessful applicants will be
