A bit about the role
You will provide quality and timely advice to Council, the community and stakeholders on growth area planning in Casey.
You will contribute to the implementation of Councils strategic planning framework and Casey’s appeal as a desirable place to live, invest and do business.
What you’ll deliver
Contribute to an integrated approach to all sections within the Planning Department.
Provide advice to senior leadership on statutory planning issues when requested.
Prepare draft Committee and Council reports, and reports on matters delegated to senior officers.
Investigate, inspect, report and process planning applications, including those involving significant or complex issues.
Prepare appeal and panel submissions and represent Council at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and before panel hearings.
Assist in the preparation, monitoring and review of Council policies.
Prepare correspondence relating to reports and enquiries.
Represent Council at functions, meetings, seminars etc. both during and outside normal working hours.
Keep up to date with relevant developments, legislation and regulations.
Support and assist staff in the Department, to achieve individual and corporate objectives.
What you’ll bring
Degree or Diploma in Town Planning, Urban Studies, Urban Geography or similar. Experience as a Town Planner, preferably with Local Government experience.
Current Australian Driver's Licence.
Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check & Eligibility to Work check
