Key Duties
The Transforming Program Administration for Schools and Universities Division is responsible for the delivery of the Education Funding System (EFS) Project and the oversight of the department's IT Strategy.
The EFS Project will modernise the technology delivering the end-to-end entitlement management for schools and higher education providers. It will transform the department's business capabilities and improve stakeholders' - schools and higher education providers - digital interactions necessary for program delivery.
The department is seeking the services of a Senior Strategic Communications Specialist to:
- Develop, deliver and implement communication and engagement strategies to ensure stakeholders are informed and engaged via appropriate formats at relevant times during the project.
- Research and implement best practice approaches and methods to communication and engagement, that takes into account new technologies.
- Develop reports including internal and external engagement, issues status, and evaluate and report on communication deliverables and channels.
- Plan and prepare content for communication Prioritise content aligned to strategic objectives.
- Develop and oversee a content editing and approvals process, ensuring sign-off by relevant internal stakeholders for communication materials (e.g. messaging, Q&As, fact sheets, publications and video/online content)
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in project planning and the reporting and evaluation of
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and work collaboratively with people at all levels to achieve outcomes.
- Creative thinker with demonstrated ability to develop strong and trusted relationships and influence key stakeholders (internal and external).
- Sound written communication skills including any experience in developing and implementing communications or engagement strategies (e.g. prepare scripts, articles, channel and publication content and edit complex technical information for multiple audiences).
- Demonstrated verbal communication and presentation skills and good negotiation, problem solving and liaison skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritise projects and working to tight deadlines, across multiple stakeholders.
