We are looking for a Senior Strategic Planner and a Strategic Planner to join our Strategic Planning team in either a Band 6 or Band 7 capacity (dependent on skills and experience).Reporting to the Strategic Planning Coordinator, you will use your creative urban thinking and land use planning policy expertise to contribute and lead the development and implementation of strategies, policies and structure plans to guide the future of the built environment in Bayside. As a senior member of the team, you will use your relevant qualifications, demonstrated abilities and experience to manage end to end projects and a project team. You will collaborate cross functionally, and support and mentor junior staff through active sharing of knowledge and by harnessing talents and strengths to deliver exceptional outcomes.You will be responsible for leading Council's advocacy and Strategic involvement in the Precinct Structure Planning process that is being set by the State government for the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) precinct in Cheltenham.The SRL is a major transport infrastructure project which seeks to provide more than 36,500 jobs and significantly increase population in the area up to 52,500 people by 2056. It is important that the successful candidate is a high performing and multidisciplinary planner that has a strong strategic mindset to help coordinate Council's continued involvement and advocacy in this State government led project.With the recent announcements of the State Government's Housing Targets, and the upcoming release of the draft Plan for Victoria, Council is seeking a passionate and highly knowledgeable Strategic Planner whom will work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders regarding the shaping of policy and planning controls to appropriately respond to these major State government announcements.The successful candidate will also have opportunities to contribute to the implementation of Council's Affordable Housing Strategy and Urban Forest Strategy as well as involvement in the Activity Centre Program Review for Hampton East / Moorabbin, which is another State government initiative that is occurring in Bayside.Key Selection Criteria:To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check.
- Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
