An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join Yarra City Council's high-performing strategic planning unit as a Senior Strategic Planner in a permanent part time capacity. As part of the team, your role will be to assist in driving and managing a range of projects and planning scheme amendments to assist in creating a strategic planning framework that reflects the needs of Yarra's growing and evolving city. You will be working as part of a fun and innovative team that is committed to an integrated team approach and working across the organisation.
The main objectives of the role would be to:
Undertake strategic research projects, policy development and planning scheme amendments to implement through the Yarra Planning Scheme
Assist in the monitoring and review of the Yarra Planning Scheme and related strategies to ensure it provides a clear and consistent decision-making framework
Plan and implement effective community and stakeholder engagement
Provide strategic and operational input into the City Strategy Branch as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Provide professional advice in relation to land use and development issues
