An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join Yarra City Council's high-performing strategic planning unit as a Senior Strategic Planner in a permanent part time capacity. As part of the team, your role will be to assist in driving and managing a range of projects and planning scheme amendments to assist in creating a strategic planning framework that reflects the needs of Yarra's growing and evolving city. You will be working as part of a fun and innovative team that is committed to an integrated team approach and working across the organisation.
The main objectives of the role would be to:
- Undertake strategic research projects, policy development and planning scheme amendments to implement through the Yarra Planning Scheme
- Assist in the monitoring and review of the Yarra Planning Scheme and related strategies to ensure it provides a clear and consistent decision-making framework
- Plan and implement effective community and stakeholder engagement
- Provide strategic and operational input into the City Strategy Branch as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Provide professional advice in relation to land use and development issues
