About the role

The Delivery People team aims to make Uber Eats the best platform for earners, deliver sustainable growth and minimize business risks associated with earner compliance and quality.

This role will be responsible for creating and advocating for the best outcomes for earners by managing delivery people's earnings and experience across Australia and New Zealand. This is particularly important as we continuously work to raise the bar for independent work and lay the foundation for the future of the gig economy.

Your Impact in Role

  • Responsible for delivery people's earnings management across Australia and New Zealand
  • Create delivery people's earnings strategy including recommending minimum earnings standard, improving earnings transparency including the fare review process, and advocating for earnings changes in line with macro economic changes (e.g. inflation, fuel prices etc.)
  • Lead the operationalisation of internally defined earnings principles to deliver meaningful changes to hundreds of thousands of earners on the platform
  • Be the subject matter expert on Delivery People earnings for the gig economy reforms working group. Model the business impact of various earnings standard scenarios to support regulatory discussions and the best outcomes for earners. Eventually, lead the implementation of the reform from an operations perspective.
  • Work across a large set of stakeholders including operations, policy, legal, comms, product, marketing, and communicate to senior leaders / GMs in the business to deliver the best outcome for earners

The Experience You'll Bring

  • Consistent track record of solving complex problems, which you will have built by leading projects with a large set of stakeholders and designing and optimisation of processes in a fast-paced ever-changing environment. (i.e. management consulting, investment banking, operations / compliance / risk management experience in hyper-growth companies). Strong track record of engaging and influencing cross-functional teams and evidence of successful complex stakeholder management in an ever-changing, rapid growth environment with many competing priorities
  • Strong analytical capabilities and data acumen. You are a natural at sourcing qualitative and quantitative data to help define problems and solutions clearly. You are at ease working in Excel/Sheets and have experience querying for data using SQL. Proficiency in SQL would be critical for the role
  • Strong implementation skills and attention to detail. You are equally at home implementing ideas as you are at developing them. You go to extensive lengths to make sure things do not fall through the cracks. You have a habit of double checking and documenting your work. You should be able to manage and deliver end-to-end projects with autonomy, and be comfortable with short-term priority shifts.
  • Strong verbal and written communication. You can craft a compelling business case, and pitch it to senior business leaders, confidently telling a data backed story that helps secure buy in.
