The Opportunity
SCP has a great opportunity for a Senior Structural Draftsperson to join our team. This role will be based in our Sydney office working closely with our growing team of engineers and design professionals.
You’ll support the structural group in delivering projects and have the experience and confidence to work as part of a team and individually. As a senior, you may act as lead Draftsperson on projects when appointed and contribute to the development of trainee draftspersons.
The ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders is essential, we are looking for the right person to develop into a key member of our drafting team.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Translate information from Engineers, clients, and other experts into polished detailed drawings.
- Self-check completed work, may back-draft own work or may supervise more junior draftspersons who back-draft work.
- Produce models to the required LOD for each project. LOD 300 minimum standard where nothing is specified.
- Assure the quality of drawings as the Lead Draftsperson on a project.
- Collaborate closely with Job Managers when in the role of Lead Draftsperson.
- Communicate with and coordinates work outsourced to external drafting resources.
- Guide and direct the efforts of other draftspersons on projects where you take the lead.
- Participate in coordination meetings as directed by the Job Manager.
- Issue drawings including uploading onto web-based document control systems.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, articulate and bring a willingness to take ownership of this key functional role within the SCP team. You will also have:
- Qualifications in structural drafting, civil construction design or equivalent
- A minimum of 8 years of local experience in structural drafting, and must be ready to take on a more autonomous role as a Structural Drafter/Modeller.
- Experience documenting all parts of a project.
- An eye for detail and working to company standards.
- The ability to be a team player and happy to support the team in delivering projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively in the ongoing maintenance and development of standards.
- The ability to work to deadlines.
- Previous experience conforming to BIM requirements, using Dynamo and working on Revizto will be highly regarded.
