What Makes This Role Special
As our Senior Structural Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing projects from inception to completion. Reporting directly to the company director, you'll lead projects and mentor junior team members, contributing to our strong pipeline of projects and fostering a culture of growth and improvement.
Responsibilities
- Manage new customer inquiries and project scoping.
- Lead and oversee project execution.
- Mentor and support junior staff in design and documentation.
- Contribute to the development of company policies and procedures.
- Assist in nurturing target customer relationships in alignment with our strategic vision.
Required Experience
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- 6-8+ years of Structural Consulting experience.
- Demonstrated experience in mentoring junior staff.
- A strong passion for personal and professional growth.
- Experience in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities preferred.
Skills and Expertise:
While experience in all areas is not mandatory, familiarity with the following is preferred:
- Design experience in timber structures, structural steel, foundation design, concrete (including various types), masonry, and retention systems.
- Proficiency in software such as HyneDesign, Spacegass, RAPT, and Inducta.
Additional Qualities

- Proficiency in relevant software for modeling and analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Commitment to collaboration and effective teamwork.
- Exceptional written and oral communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- A suitable, distraction-free home workspace during work hours.
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
- RPEQ qualified or eligible.
